Simply put, your attitude is your viewpoint, perspective, or state of mind towards something or someone. It can be positive, negative, or neutral.

But here's the thing: The Bible tells us in Daniel 6:3 (AMP) that Daniel "was distinguished above the presidents and the satraps because an excellent spirit was in him, and the king thought to set him over the whole realm."

Wow! Daniel's excellent attitude set him apart and opened doors for incredible favor and influence. I imagine you want that to be said about you too.

Observations About Having the Right Attitude

You can absolutely change your attitude.

Ephesians 4:28-31 (NLT) gives us a powerful pep talk:

"If you are a thief, quit stealing. Instead, use your hands for good hard work, and then give generously to others in need. Don't use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them. And do not bring sorrow to God's Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior."

Additionally, your focus has the power to change your attitudes.

Philippians 4:8 (NLT) tells us precisely what to fix our thoughts on:

"And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise."
