There's an Internet saying that really rings true:

"A bad attitude is like a flat tire; you can't get where you want to go until you change it."

Isn't that the truth? Bad attitudes have ruined so many relationships in my experience. They got stuck on the side of the road and never made it to their destination! The Apostle Paul expressed a similar idea in Ephesians 4:21-24 (NLT):

"Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy."

Your attitude, or viewpoint and mindset, is crucially important—more so than your gifts, skills, and qualifications. It acts as a powerful force, attracting or repelling the right or wrong people, God's favor or punishment, promotion or demotion at work. Ultimately, your attitude determines whether you increase or decrease, grow or diminish, attract mentors who can promote you or repel them.

Let's break down what it means to "renew" something:

To revive; reestablish, to recover (youth, strength, etc.), to restore to a former state; make new or as if new again.

<aside> 💡 The key point is that with God's help, you can renew your attitude and become more like Christ every day!
